What Happens to Your Business If Facebook / Instagram tomorrow disappears?
Did you ever think about this?
If you haven’t already, then you probably haven’t thought about having your own mailing list too, list of your most loyal followers/clients?
I’ve written a lot about the importance of having a mailing list for your business. Today I’m going to give you 5 ideas on how you can grow your mailing list effortlessly.
“Subscribe to the news!” does not work anymore. We are simply all overwhelmed with emails to sign up for news for no particular reason. Therefore, it is necessary to explain why someone would even want to sign up for the news.
5 Clever Ways To Effortless Grow Your List Every Day
1 | Add a link in your e-mail signature, business card
I missed this too. Why not take advantage of the signature in the mail and invite everyone you communicate with to sign up for the news (eg free webinar, shoot freebie, how to get xy…)
Another step further… you can also add the link to your physical business card, of course, if that makes sense.
2 | Add a link to social media
It’s really obvious but often overlooked. Do you already have a link to news, freebies, free webinars… on Facebook? Instagram? If not, it’s worth adding them + you have more chances for someone to sign up for your newsletter, offer it all!
Links, invitations to e.g. freebies, you can also add as a pin on Pinterest.
3 | Add link on the website
If not already, you should add a link to subscribe also on your website. You have quite a few options where you can put it! It depends on what you offer in return for subscribing to the news.
Here are some options:
- the footer of the website,
- primary menu,
- sidebar,
- like a popup (beware that this is not a first for a new visitor – it can be too annoying),
- slide in banner from left / right / top / bottom.
4 | Creating an evergreen welcome/education series
Series can be great, even if you create a series eg. educational e-mails that are always actual. Of course, it takes quite a bit of work to create it, but then it is a funnel that is not time-limited and always up-to-date.
What exactly is a series like this?
This is a series where new news subscribers receive e.g. one educational e-mail per day. The quality of this e-mail is very important. Do not use it for promotion only.
5 | Upgrade content or freebies for new blog posts
For new subscribers to the newsletter, you can also upgrade the content of each blog or provide them with an additional / upgrade guide, freebie, tip, video, webinar, pictures, graphics, a meeting, a challenge … or something else.
6 – Bonus | Invite on guest channels (eg podcast, blog, workshop …)
If you have the opportunity to participate in guest channels – e.g. as a guest on the podcast – why not take advantage of this and invite all listeners to download freebie on your site? Take every opportunity!
I hope any of these ideas benefit you!
