If you are a visual person and like social media, then Instagram is probably part of your life. 🙂 If not and you like photos you should check it now! Instagram is a free application that lets users capture photos and videos. It was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, in October 2010.
I have collect 5 Instagram tips you should know about! Some you maybe already know, some will blow your mind. Ok, maybe not exactly that, but they definitely can be useful.
1. Edit photos with Snapseed and Retouch
Instagram already have a great editing tool, but sometimes you need something more. My favorite apps to edit my photos for Instagram are Snapseed (to strengthen and correct colors) and Retouch (to remove some parts in a photo).
More about how I edit my photos.
2. Schedule Instagram photos with Latergram
Sometimes I take photos and don’t want to publish them at the same time. In this situation, I use Latergram to schedule photos. While this doesn’t actually post to Instagram, I can set reminders to help me know when to post. But, the best part about this app is that it allows me write out all the captions for the photos and get my hashtags all ready to be posted. That way, when it’s time to post, I have everything ready to go!
3. Use Your Headphones as a Phone Camera Remote
The quality of photo with a front camera can be really bad. Instead, you can use a regular phone camera and take selfies or strange angels photos you can use the headphones as a wired remote. Plug in your headphones and the two volume buttons on your iPhone headphones can act as shutter buttons, which means you can snap photos with one hand while holding your phone aloft with another, and it works with video too.
4. Hide Or Remove Tagged Photos Of You
This can be useful for spam photos. You can adjust your settings to review them first. Just go to ‘Photos of You’, tap on your settings at the top right corner and select the ‘Add Manually’ option.
5. Experiment. Get out of your comfort zone.
The best photos are usually taken when I play with the phone. Try new angles and experiment. Go closer, rotate phone, add lenses, play with light…

Maja! I’m trying to be more active on Instagram, so I love your advice! I did not know that you could use your headphones as shutter buttons (am I late to the game? haha). Mind blown! Great advice here. I’m glad I came across your post.

I love these tips! I used to use an IG scheduler but I thought it was too much work. I may consider looking into latergram as I know a few people use it.
Thanks for the tips!
