5 Ways You Can Improve To Gain More Trust On Your Website

There are a lot of challenges when it comes to building trust online. Whether you are just browsing the web, or you go online to make purchases, you probably order and visit only pages that you somehow trust.

If you own your own page or blog you should consider if your visitors trust you. These simple actions can go a long way with building trust with your website visitors:

A GREAT ABOUT PAGE

About page is an important part of your blog or web page. The visitors that click on your about page is interested to know more about you and need a reason why they should stick around. So don’t let them down.

About page is also a great way to build trust online and can actually turn those first-timers into regular visitors. People don’t like faceless entities or buying from them, so don’t forget to add one, two or even more pictures of you – of course, it should be good quality and appropriate. Adding a personal touch to your site can go a long way with building trust. People are more likely to trust what you have to say if you are willing to show your face. And if you have a whole team, show a photo of each member, along with a short description of their skills. It will give future clients an idea of who they may be working with on their particular project.

If you have business and company that have awards and certificate also include those on your page. Along with your client testimonials and if you were mention in Press you should include this too. It can be short and sweet.

USEFUL CONTENT AND INFORMATION

Content is the most important one! Create useful, helpful content resources – like useful tips, freebies, how-to… This is really important because when you provide useful information it instantly builds trust with visitors to your site. They come back looking for more information, and if you spend the time to offer valuable, helpful tips for free, it opens them up to everything else you have to offer.

Ads and sponsored post can be a great way to earn some extra money. But be careful with it! Too much ads and sponsored post with a product that you don’t really care about can do more damage. Especially if visitors find out that this product from your sponsored post, you don’t like and you did it just to earn some money. If you do sponsor post, be honest! Do only those you really believe in and products you really use. If you have ads on your page, be careful to not overwhelm you visitors with it. Make sure that visitors know what is content and what is ad.

PROFESSIONAL WEBSITE DESIGN

When people first navigate to a website, they get the first impression very quickly (approximately in 6 seconds!). In this time users will form an opinion about whether they find the site trustworthy or not. So website design is really important!

Good design helps make information more easily accessible and well represent your work. Visitors find information fast and browse your website intuitive. Cohesive colors, fonts, elements are essential. Everything matters and nothing should be overlooked.

IMAGES, LOGO, BRAND IDENTITY

Any website (not only company) should have high-quality photos, professional logo, icons and cohesive look of an entire website.

While there’s nothing wrong with using stock photos, it’s much better to favor website visuals that look like they were actually taken of you in real situations. You may want to consider hiring a professional photographer to take photos for your website.

Images on your website and blog should look cohesive and if you add text on your image, consider to create/buy a template for your images. With a template, your process will be much faster and images will look cohesive.

BONUS TIP:

Contact information should be on visible place and relevant. You can also include your social media accounts if you use them. Don’t use your Gmail account! Use your domain email, it looks more professional and trustworthy.

  • Such awesome tips! I especially love the point you made about letting your reader know what is an ad and what is content. I HATE blogs that are so filled with ads that you can't really tell what is what.

  • I don't have a domain email because I could not find one that was free. Any suggestions? I use my gmail in hopes that I will eventually be able to invest in a domain email.

  • Thanks for the great tips. I'm new at blogging and need every bit of help I can get.

  • Good tips! Now I have to go back and fix up everything. Hmmm, I also need to work on getting a logo and building brand recognition! So much work... lol.

  • Simple tips but great reminders. Free email is a no-no and doesn't help in branding either.

  • I have an about section on my sidebar but a page is what's missing I think. I know what I'm working on today :)

  • Loved this post ... great things to think about. And, yes, one of the things I hate the most is the constant blogger sponsored posts ... I like to make money with my blog, too, but it becomes so fake at a certain point. You're right ... I lose trust in the blogger. :) And I never thought about the professional email ... I use my gmail one. I guess I need to rethink that.

  • I totally agree with these tips! I've been going through a website overhaul recently trying to incorporate more of these things.
