Some entrepreneurs may be quite concerned during this quarantine period. Some a little less.
Most businesses that only run offline are now closed – like shops, cafes, fitness, bakeries, pastry shops …
If you are one of those and you have never needed an online presence, that has completely changed now.
But no panic. If you are only an offline business presence, now you have an ideal opportunity to present your business in the online world.
Now is the time to make plans for your online presence – website and social media.
Because I know many of you don’t even know where to start, today I have put together a guide that will guide you to make a good online presence strategy for your website!
Where to start, how to prepare?
I suggest you book a time with no distractions for this plan. First, try to plan as much as possible, and then later you can improve the strategy and add additional ideas.
I prepared a freebie for you to plan your website (if you want to build it yourself or hire a contractor)!
Um …
What programs do you need to plan?
None!
All you need is a Google Account (Gmail) because the guide is in a Google document – no more excuses! 🙂

1 | Define the Ideal Customer / Visitor
If you do not already have … PLEASE first create your ideal customer, the ideal website visitor.
For who is this website? The more you define your ideal customer, the easier it will be for you to produce content and the impact will be much greater.

2 | Explore and get inspired
The first step is to explore and get inspired. It is ideal to prepare a moodboard with all the visuals you like, as well as determine what you do not like (how to create a moodboard, see 👉 How to create a moodboard
Gather all the visuals, images, and also websites into the moodboard – this should give you the feeling you want your visitor to feel when they visit your website. Then analyze – what is the most important of everything on your moodboard.
Choose ONE word that will define the main feeling of the website. E.g. romance, positive, happy, inspiration … This will help you focus on how to prepare content and how the website will ultimately be.
Then it’s time to come up with some basic information about the webpage you want:
- webpage title (short and descriptive),
- short webpage description (appear as short text on Google or social media),
- desired URL,
- check that the name is also available on social media.
More detailed information can be found in the free guide here:
3 | Create the Website Structure
The structure will help you determine which content you need to prepare. The website structure: all pages and subpages you need. The usual website has at least: homepage, service/product presentation, contact, about me …
I suggest you write down a list of all the pages and then arrange them in the order they would be in the menu. The first and last menu items are usually the most clicked – this can help you decide the order. You can also use post-it.
4 | Prepare content
Text, graphics, and photos are included in the content preparation.
It’s important to use keywords when writing content for your website. If you don’t know which keywords to use, you can check out the free online course 👉 How to Choose Keywords
Then start writing. I advise you to make a few points for each page, what you want to tell, and then start writing.
For Websites, it is usually best to use shorter texts that are divided into shorter paragraphs. Write interesting, engaging text and don’t forget to include CTA (Call to Action) as well (e.g., read more, buy, subscribe to news, contact me…).
5 | Prepare Legal Content
Let me first say that I am not a lawyer, so I am not responsible for the template either, but I give you a good start. At least 2 pages need to be written: privacy policy and general terms. It depends on your business. These contents are necessary to keep the visitor informed on the one hand and to protect yourself on the other.
The privacy policy contains all information about collecting, processing, storing, transferring personal information. In the general terms, however, the visitor finds the rights and duties he or she has when browsing the site and possibly e.g. buying a product from an online store.
You can find the content template in the free guide (but again, I’m not a lawyer, so consult with a lawyer who will further confirm all content).
