You finally decide it’s finaaaally time for your new website … of course, you need the best photos!
And then you find a great photographer and book an appointment.
Day d is here – the day to take your new photos …
… and then you wonder what kind of photos you need?!?!

Yes, you can also prepare a list of photos for a photoshoot and avoid this unpleasant moment (it is enough that you have to stand in front of the lens, right ;)). To avoid this I always suggest that we first create a strategy for the website and then it is easier to predict the photos that will be needed. Of course, when taking photos, the rule “more is more” is always better.

Here are some photos that a usual website needs:

About, team

To present yourself and the team, you need:

profile photos of each individual in a team or. yourself if you don’t have a team
photos like behind the scenes, during a meeting, enjoying …
group photography (more fun, better!)

Products

If you sell products, then you need:

pictures of individual products
pictures of product categories, packages (if you offer them)
product in use,
product pictures for the shop,
product packaging.

Services

If you provide services, then you will also need some photos for the services.
Um, but how do you take photos of services?
By presenting the services as much as possible – while doing the service, from behind the scenes …
Think… how you can present an individual service, e.g. if you have different massages, imagine how you can best present each massage – facial massage, back massage … If you are learning yoga, there should be different positions and you should also change your outfit.

Lifestyle / behind the scenes

Photos from behind the scene are always welcome: coffee, team parties… These can spice up an entire website.

Space (bar, salon, bar…)

Regardless of whether you have a huge business space or work from your home office, try to take some photos from the workspace.

If you have space where customers come to (eg bar, bakery, massage studio, yoga studio …), then show what your space. If it makes sense, what kind of devices do you use? As well as some decorations in the studio are welcome (eg some interesting pictures on the wall, candles …).

If your workspace is more private, focus more on capture some small details in your office (eg your favorite mug on the desk, block, phone, books, quotes…).
