Almost all WordPress websites have a sidebar. Sidebar (left or right) is a vertical column for displaying information other than the main content of the web page, usually, contain widgets that an administrator of the site can customize. Let’s see how to customize it:
Apperance > Widgets > Blog Sidebar (theme can also have other name)
Choos widget you want to add (e.g. just some text) > Add Widget
Then you can add Title and text > Save
