4 top goals for every website

4 top goals for every website

21/02/2021

Websites have different main goals. But they all have some common goals. In this post, I’m sharing 4 top goals and a few more ideas how to improve your website.

4 top goals for every website

4 top goals for every website:

1 | Connect

The first goal for every website is to connect and build a relationship between the visitor and you – through the website. When visitors first visit your website, a positive first impression is soo important. They should quickly find the information they need and stay on your website as long as possible – e.g. reads blog posts and get your freebie …

Visitors should get to know your work, your vision, you, and the most important – what they can find for themselves. Building a relationship and connecting is an important part of any business because only a few visitors decide to buy on the first visit (it is more possible with low-cost products or services).

2 | Capture e-mails

When the first stage of connecting is over, we want to keep in touch. And here comes the second goal of the website – collecting e-mail addresses. This can be done in a variety of ways:

As a newsletter subscription (just an invitation for a visitor to sign up for the newsletter usually doesn’t work anymore – we’re all already overwhelmed with information and need a good reason to sign up for new newsletters).

E-mail for exchange for a freebie or. free material, planner, video, additional tips, a series of tips…

And since there is already plenty of everything free… it is important that your freebie is really high quality! It offers something that is not just something nobody needs but will really benefit the visitor.

After signing up, it is necessary to take care of an email series for a new subsriber, through which you can give additional advice – it is not only important to collect emails, but even more important is to build good relationships.

3 | Build Trust

When visitors trust you with their contact and give you permission to contact them, it is good to take advantage of this to build an even better relationship and trust. Trust is essential for a potential customer to become a customer.

Of course, I never suggest to used subscribers just to sell them (use their trust). Sooner or later, this will kill your business. That’s why building honesty and a sincere relationship always comes first. Accept that it’s also ok if someone signs up for the mailing list, downloads your free material, gets your knowledge, and never becomes a customer. That’s ok too.

When you offer for free don’t expect anything in return.

Help as much you can.

Respect your core values.

Share, share, share.

One great way to build trust is really through free materials, but it’s not the only one. You can also build trust (or even more) with regular and quality news and through social media posts. Just be careful that your content is not too sailsy.

4 | Converting sails

Once a potential customer trusts you and you have built a relationship, it’s time for the website’s next goal. This is to convert the visitor into a customer. Maybe it’s buying a product, booking a massage appointment, buying an application, sending an inquiry, booking a workshop, registering for a course…

Whatever conversion means to you, this is one of the most important tasks of a website for your business (otherwise it’s a hobby! 😉)

You’ve probably noticed that this is a process that usually looks more like a funnel and you can imagine it like this:

4 top goals for every website

Most visitors will be just first visitors, some of these will get connect, some will even opt for your news and some will become your customer. Of course, it is our goal to have as many as possible persons at every step, so always take care of the quality!

I hope this post helps you understand the website better. However, I invite you to share your opinion – maybe even which goal your website misses and when you intend to update it (this way you get an extra push 😉).
