Imagine you have a tool, a system that helps you keep your mailing list growing day by day.
Automatically.
No extra work is needed.
And there are only ideal customers on your mailing list.
And those subscribers convert into customers over time.
Nice, right?
Well, this is exactly the evergreen funnel main task, which is popular regardless of the weather, events, or season 🙂
If you don’t have one yet, then this post is perfect for you.
What is the difference between an “ordinary” and an “evergreen” funnel?
The difference is when it is available/interesting for new subscribers. “Ordinary” is usually relevant for a certain period and is intended more for current events (eg as a webinar before enrolling in an online school). It is usually time-limited and more (marketing) aggressive.
On the other hand, an evergreen funnel is attractive in the long term – e.g. as a lead to increase mailing lists. It is not time-limited and is always popular.
How to choose the right freebie?
First, you should select the main goal for your funnel. Is it the growth of mailing lists, product sales, service sales…?
Based on this goal, consider what you can offer to the ideal client and how can you help to solve their problem.
For Free.
As a “preview” or. something that would be interesting and benefit them. And of course, is related to your goal.
Freebie should be irresistible and so helpful that subscribers will ask you something like this: “Seriously, this is for free!?!?”
How to make a freebie?
Based on the goal and the content you want to offer for free, think about what will be the most appropriate/useful form of this freebie?
What is your favorite way to create content?
Is it text, pdf, video, quiz, handbook, online course, webinar, workshop…?
Choose the right one for your business.
When you choose, then you can hire an expert to help you with the realization. Or you can do it yourself.
You can create pdf in Canva (here is a free course How To Design In Canva For Free) or in a text editor like Word, Pages, Google Docs, PPT.
You can record the video on your mobile phone.
You can publish the text on the password-protected page.
Remember that content is the most important!
Second most important designs.
This is a long-term project, so a larger investment makes sense.
How to publish a freebie?
If you use WordPress, you can create a Password Protected page – a page is visible only for those that have the password (more about this here). In this case, everyone will have the same password – and you can send them the password in the automatic e-mail they receive after subscribing.
If you use Mailchimp, you can also use their landing pages, which allow you to share a link to the freebie after subscribing.
You can use Vimeo, YouTube for the video – both should be accessible only via a link (not publicly available).
For Vimeo, the visibility should be “Private” or “Password”.
For YouTube “Unlisted”.
What is the next step of an evergreen funnel?
Once the freebie is ready it is time for more e-mails, or better yet a sequence of automated e-mails.
These emails should be full of useful information and should lead to a more trusting relationship. Subscribers should understand your services and offer.
Also, don’t forget to invite them to take the next step and buy your services/product.
Where to post an invitation for a new freebie?
Of course, don’t forget to invite potential customers to join.
- Add a link in the bio on your social media.
- Share as a post on social media.
- Share in a blog.
- Share in the sidebar, footer, popup (not necessarily everywhere).
- It may make sense to post on the homepage of the website as well.
- On guest blogs, podcasts.
- In the signature of the email.
I hope you find this content useful. If you already have an evergreen funnel, please share your freebie in the comments below. If you don’t have it yet, you can share an idea, and we’ll help you with feedback. 🙂
