[blockquote quote_type=”type5″ author_name=”Brian Tracy” width=”100%” float=”left”]Every minute you spend in planning saves 10 minutes in execution; this gives
you a 1,000 percent Return on Energy![/blockquote]
By taking just 5-10 minutes each day (in the morning or night before) to plan out your day, you’ll be able to get significantly more out of your day. In this post, I will show you how I plan my week and then my working day and what I use.
What I Use For Planning
For a long time I use paper planner – this is my current one. I love it! But… lately, I have a problem to track everything in my planner. First, because there is too much task to write them down and secondly there are no reminders. When I have this problem and still want to write my task down on paper I print out printable to-do list.
To track all my project I use Asana. I can simply rearrange tasks, set Due Date… Before Asana I have used Meistertask – also a great app.
How I Plan My Week
Before the week started I like to plan it.
In Asana I have some weekly task that appears in my Asana to-do list every Monday, so I don’t have to add them every week. I check my calendar for some events, meetings… and also add them to Asana. For every task, I set Due Date and arrange them by projects.
I also check what I plan to publish on my Blog and lately I also try to plan content for social media.
That’s all for week plan.
How I Plan My Day
I love when I take time the night before and prepare everything for next day. But lately, I rather take some time in the morning and plan my day.
I start my working day (after yoga, meditation, breakfast and with coffee in one hand…) with e-mails. First I reply to all that can be done immediately and for emails, I need more time I send to my to-do list in Asana. Then I check my Due Date tasks in Asana and rearrange them – the most important 3 are the first one.
With planning my day I feel more organized and feel great because everything I have to do is in my Asana and I don’t have to worried about tasks I shouldn’t forget.
And that’s everything! Tell me – how you plan working day and week? 🙂

Planning out the day always helps me as well! I haven’t heard of any of the apps you recommend, so I’ll have to check them out.

I was exactly like this 🙂 I used to plan my day the night before, but now I actually do the planning the morning of that day while I drink my latte.
I think its more practical 🙂
cool post by the way 😉

This is a great reminder that I need to look at new planners! I’ve been using my trusty old spiral-bound notebooks for too long – time for an upgrade!

Thank you 🙂

I love to go for a run in the morning and then plan what I am going to do for the day. I tent to get lost or distracted with other things (especially my phone and social media) really quick so I always need to make sure to stick to my plan. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Maja says
Ooo phone and social media can really be a big distraction 🙂 Thank you.

Sometimes it’s hard to find a system that truly works for you. I also have a paper organizer and then add specific items to my calendar, so I get reminders. Thank you for sharing your technique.
Maja says
Yes, it really is. And also even if I find a system, it changes over the time. 🙂 Thank you.
