Everyone has an opinion and everyone has an opinion about something else…
It’s OK, we are only people…
And based on the opinion we also share various tips.
For someone, one advice may be a good one, for another, a little less.
Today, I share the best and worst advice I received at the beginning of my business journey and I have been dealing with it (with the worst one) for several years.
Yeah, YEARS!
Until I realized that this advice did not vibrate with me.
This advice was: you shouldn’t share too much. If you share too much, then you won’t have work.
You shouldn’t share too much. If you share too much, then you won’t have work.
Maybe it’s not such bad advice, it may be even true… but it is not in line with me. And the less I listen to this advice, the more I am in the flow, the more I create, the more I can give, the more satisfied the clients are…
But back to the advice… I have often heard this advice and because I was at the beginning (and more terrified), of course I took that as truth. And I believe I’m not the only one!
But can you even share too much knowledge?
Of course, there are people who take advantage, but I don’t focus on those.
I focus on those who I can help.
This is how relationships and confidence is built.
What can actually happen if you share ALL your knowledge?
There are several options:
1 | (probably the biggest fear) someone will copy you – ok, but this is just a copy that will not be successful in the long run (even if it would, this don’t affect your success);
2 | someone will DIY based on your knowledge – well that’s ok, he/she probably doesn’t have such a successful business yet and can’t afford your services/product (and of course there are experiences, thinking, ideas, perception, perspective, the energy that only you can add…);
3 | clarify how much is really behind your business (knowledge, experience and creativity) – usually entrepreneurs do not have time to learn everything in all fields, and the end product will not be so great, so they prefer to leave the work to you….
In my experience, it’s always best to share knowledge. Not in the way that you must share everything, of course. The best way is to listen your feeling. Feeling what you really want to share and believe it might be helpful to someone.
What about the best advice?
Follow yourself and your feelings (even if everyone says no).
The best advice I’ve ever received is to follow yourself and your feelings (even if everyone says no).
Only by following yourself, you can create something wonderful, and even if I “fail” (I don’t believe in failure, I believe in lessons, learning), I have gained new experiences and knowledge (usually those without which I would not be able to progress). I believe that I will be less sorry to try than to not try and wonder my whole life, what if …
