How much time do you spend on a single task? With Time Tracking you can analyse your time and find out where you spend the most time and determinate if is it really worth this amount of time to invest in a particular task. With optimization of your time, you can be more productive and have more free time. But how to track your time with minimal effort?
Today I am going to show you my process and how I track my time. And … I have also prepared free Google Sheet Template for you! 🙂 If you like paper more, than you can also download this printable Pomodoro To-Do list. If you don’t know what Pomodoro technique is, you can read more about it here.
Step by step:
1. When I start working, I turn on my Pomodoro clock (25min). I recently started using the app Be Focused, and for now, it is great!
2. When the 25 minutes ends I take a 5-minute break (sometimes I also skip this break). On the printable sheet, I mark the first completed Pomodoro cycle. During the break (if I have one) I jumped in the kitchen to grab some drink, stretch my legs or check my Instagram, Twitter account. After 5 min it’s time to get back to work.
A new cycle starts (I repeat steps 1 and 2).
3. When I finish one project, I add time of Pomodoro cycles in Google Sheets. You can download Template here:
Although Pomodoro cycles can be written directly to Sheet, I prefer to mark them on a piece of paper. This is also my overall process in detail. 🙂
